In this video I review the NEW Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 II, which improves upon the original design, making it into what might be the best budget lens for both portraits and product b-roll.
The full frame Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 II lens comes in Sony E-Mount and Fuji X-Mount configurations and features quick and accurate autofocus, very good center-to-edge sharpness, and an impressive build quality, all for a very low price.
This lens is a fantastic alternative to the Sony 85mm f/1.8, Sony 85mm f/1.4 G Master, or Samyang/Rokinon 85mm f/1.4. I also compare the features and differences between all of these lenses, but most of the focus is on the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 II itself.
This lens has one main weak spot, but it's probably not a deal breaker for most people. I normally advocate big spending when it comes to lenses, but I think Viltrox has done a great job at creating a professional quality lens at a super budget price.
