The Best Vintage Manual Lenses for Cinematic Video

In this video I'll show you two of the cheapest (and best) lenses to help you create more cinematic or filmic looking video footage. On top of being inexpensive, they are extremely easy to find.

I’ll admit, I’m the first person to shell out cash for the newest camera gear, but sometimes the best tool for the job isn't always the latest and greatest modern lens.

One of the lenses I found is a vintage, Soviet Union era lens that is at least 30-40 years old. The other is a similar, modern version manual lens built specifically for today's DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.

The are plenty of cheap lenses for Sony E mount, Canon EF-M and EOS R, Fuji X, micro four thirds, and more.

Watch the video to see all the stats on these lenses, the pros and cons of each, plus sample footage taken with my Sony a7R III.
