In this video I review and compare 6 different shotgun microphones in the Rode NTG5, Deity S-Mic 2, Deity S-Mic 2S, Senal MC24-ES, Synco Mic-D1, and Synco Mic-D2.
These short, long, and location shotgun microphones range from $150 to $500 and feature different pickup patterns, frequency response, and sound characteristics.
This video focuses less on the technical specifications and included accessories and more on the sound quality of each microphone, so there are male and female voice comparisons in both a talking head or interview setup, as well as in a podcast or voiceover style setup.
The audio samples in this video are unedited apart from volume normalization so you can more fairly compare each microphone.
